Must see while in Salt Lake!
Salt Lake City, Utah has so many hidden treasures. Living in Salt Lake for 27 of my 29 years of existence, I have heard my fare share of what people think and perceive of this place. First thing that comes to mind for most, is Mormons. I know that this state does have a large Mormon population, but if you step out of the stereo types there is many amazing things to see in Salt Lake. If you have never been you will see it is not anything like you thought, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Must see places you must visit are the following. First is the Cathedral of the Madeleine located on 331 East South Temple, just a stones throw from downtown. Completed in 1909, it has a Roman Exterior and a Gothic Interior. Religious or not this is a very quite and amazing place to be, you will feel like you are in Europe will visiting this amazing structure.
Next on the list is Liberty Park located on 700 East and 1300 South. Liberty park is an 80 acre park with many options for the whole family. Bordered with a 3 mile running trail, there is a ferris wheel, swings and a few concession stand, where you can get cotton candy, hotdog, corndogs and many of your favorite summertime treats. Also located in the park is a swimming pool right next to a few tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts as well, bbq and picnic area, several playgrounds and a bird exhibit called Tracy Aviary. Located on the South end across the street is an amazing and very busy eatery called The Park Cafe open M-Su from 7-3. Liberty park is an oasis just a few miles from downtown that will leave you and the family with tons to do.
For those looking for a great time downtown, you must visit Squatters Pub and Brewery on 147 West Broadway downtown. They have an amazing selection of beers that are made on location. The prices are good and they do have some good food, its a great atmosphere and a great experience. My last must visit is Moochies, they will indeed rock your socks off with there food. If i could sum the taste and quality of Moochies food would be AMAZING!! located at 232 East 800 South, they have one of the best philly cheese steaks I have ever had, with eight or so different types of phillies available. This is a must for anyone visiting Salt Lake City.
So whether you are in Salt Lake for fun or for business, you must see these places, you will not be disappointed at all. So come on down to Salt Lake and let us treat you to some amazing hidden gems that you may not have ever know where here and enjoy all this place has to offer.
